- How do I become a Gilbert Medical Group patient?
To become a patient, please contact Gilbert Medical Group at (954) 706-5366 and ask to speak with our concierge coordinator Katy. She will assist you in becoming a patient of our medical practice.
- Do you accept private insurance or Medicare?
We do accept insurance; private and Medicare as a form of payment for the visit. The annual membership does not replace your insurance.
*If you have a deductible, payments will be required for each visit.- If I am a patient of Dr Gilbert do I still need insurance?
Yes. You should still maintain your insurance, whether it is through a private insurance company or Medicare. You will need this insurance to cover the cost of hospitalization, visits to a medical specialist, radiology procedures, and any required lab work.
- What should I expect during my first visit?
Our goal is to provide the highest quality care by building a personal relationship with each patient. In order to do so, we spend up to one hour during the first visit taking your medical history, performing a comprehensive physical examination, and conducting comprehensive lab work, including advanced diagnostic blood work. This information helps us create a complete medical profile and understand your unique health and wellness needs.
- Does every follow up visit need to be in person?
No. We are sensitive to your schedule and recognize that it is not always possible to have follow-up visits in person. Only the initial consultation and the first follow-up visit with Dr. Gilbert must be an in-person visit. Subsequent follow-up visits may be conducted via email or over the phone, unless a medical condition requires an in-person visit
- How often will I need a follow up visit?
Depending on your age, health and medical history, we may recommend a follow-up visit every three, six or twelve months. You are also welcome to schedule a visit with us at any time to discuss health concerns you may have.
- How many times may I visit Gilbert Medical Group each year?
As a patient of Dr. Gilbert, you have an unlimited number of visits. Our main goal is to provide the highest care possible, so we do not place on limit on follow up visits.
- Do you offer house calls?
Yes. Gilbert Medical Group is proud to offer patients this elevated level of service and provide house calls for our coverage area. Charges may vary based on the exact location and the complexity of care, starting at $100/ visit for active concierge patients.
- Will my private insurance or medicare cover my lab work?
The lab company will directly bill your insurance company or Medicare on your behalf.
- Can Dr Gilbert provide care if I am hospitalized?
Dr. Gilbert maintained privileges at Memorial Regional Hospital and Aventura Hospital. You will be admitted by a hospitalist recommended by Dr. Gilbert and Dr. Gilbert will continue to see you in the hospital on a daily basis, co-ordinating your care with the hospitalist and sub-specialists taking care of you.
- At which hospitals do your physician have privileges?
Dr. Gilbert has privileges at major local hospitals, including Memorial Regional,Memorial Regional South and Aventura Hospital. In case of admission, Dr. Gilbert will work alongside a selected hospitalist group to ensure you receive excellent care.
- What happens if I need emergency care or hospitalization?
If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. After you call 911, please contact Dr. Gilbert. He will coordinate your emergency care. In the event of hospitalization, Dr. Gilbert or any of his associates will coordinate all necessary care during and after your stay. A hospitalist working alongside Dr. Gilbert will see you daily in the hospital. Dr. Gilbert will ensure that your medical needs are met while you are admitted. You will not be alone.
- What happens if Dr Gilbert is out of town and I get sick?
In the event that Dr. Gilbert is unavailable and you require care, Dr. Gilbert's carefully selected associate will provide any and all necessary care. There is no additional charge for his care. If hospitalization is needed, Dr. Gilbert's most trusted Hospitalist will assist you.
- What if my primary physician is based in another state-can Dr Gilbert still coordinate my care?
Dr. Gilbert can easily coordinate care with physicians who are based in other states. Dr. Gilbert frequently works with leading physicians across the United States to provide patients with the highest quality care possible. We offer programs in which we can care for you as a 'snow bird' for patients who are part time residents.
- To which specialists do you refer your patients?
Our main goal is to provide each patient with the highest quality care possible, and we have assembled a dedicated team of specialists to achieve this goal. Dr. Gilbert works with leading specialists based on each patient's individual health and wellness needs. Our specialist network includes the greater Miami-Dade and Broward community, as well as leading specialists in Florida and across the United States.
